Old Bontoc War Shield & Spear – Philippines

These  fine, old, classically shaped weapons emanate from the high mountain region of Luzon.  Both pieces show good patina and are in excellent condition, without breaks in the panel or weaving. These are fine, authentic, early tribal war and hunting weapons, dating from the late 19th to early 20th centuries, and they have obviously seen long use.
With the forged spear tip is a sharp pike on the other end.  The shield and spear measure 36 inches and 42 inches in length, respectively.
