figure is from Nias Island, south
of Sumatra, in Indonesia. Glazed
with a deep patina, this piece
shows good age and use
and is
in wonderful condition. The bamboo
vessel strapped to the
figure's waist
is for offerings to insure
a bountiful
harvest. Shows well from every angle.
