KUBA BOX from Wylly collection

 This outstanding reliquary piece is a vessel for “takula powder” (the cremated ashes  of revered  tribe members). During later ceremonies, the ashes were applied to other effigies.  This piece is from the Millicent Wylly estate.  This fine early piece is thoughtfully crafted with a rich patina and signs of much use.  We place the age to be from 1940 or earlier.
